Aparna Nigam-Saxena
Educator & Co-founder, Hindu Samaj Northstowe
I'm an educator experienced in working with children and young people of all ages. I've been involved in community projects in London, Bedfordshire, and now Northstowe, Cambridgeshire. I'm co-founder of Hindu Samaj Northstowe, supporting Hindu families and promoting connection, cultural understanding, and harmony. Northstowe is home: my daughters attend school here, I work locally, and my husband is at Cambridge University. This fuels my commitment to helping Northstowe become a connected, inclusive, and thriving community.
Dr. Abhishek Srivastava (PhD)
Researcher & Community Leader
Professionally, Abhishek is an accomplished researcher with 35+ peer-reviewed publications and extensive experience delivering projects from concept through to key milestones. Well recognised for his analytical insight and commitment to excellence, he brings rigour and a genuine passion for community impact to everything he does.
A resident of Northstowe, Abhishek has been actively involved with Hindu Samaj Northstowe for the past three years — helping to bring neighbours together, support local initiatives, and build the connections that make a town feel like home.
Mr Suresh Patel
Architect & Urban Development Expert
Have 45 years of professional experience in the designing buildings, urban development and the city regeneration. And work experience in four different countries but mainly in UK. Both in Public and private Sector and for public with UK Government and Local Authority. A community project was awarded lottery funding and actively involved in Community work as Chairman and as adviser.
Mr Neal Patel
Aerospace Chemist & Community Leader
Neal is an Aerospace Chemist working on the Development of Advanced Material for the next generation of Aeroplanes. He holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry with Materials Chemistry providing a strong scientific foundation for his work in high-performance aerospace materials. Alongside his professional career, Neal is actively involved in the local community. He has been engaged with Hindu Samaj Northstowe for the past three years, helping to bring people together through community initiatives. Neal is also a grassroots-qualified football coach at a local football club and has served as Vice Chairman for the past three years, supporting youth development and community participation in sport.
Dr. Chiranjeevi Sandi (PhD)
Project Manager, and Community Leader
Namaste. I'm proud to be part of the Cambridge Hindu Temple and value the opportunity to connect with others who share our culture, traditions, and spiritual values. Being involved in the community allows me to celebrate our festivals, learn from one another, and keep our heritage alive for future generations. I believe in supporting one another, fostering unity, and helping preserve the rich traditions of Hindu culture.
Mr Arun Muthirulan
Coach, Mentor & Trustee, Cambridge Hindu Forum
Arun is a coach, mentor, and advisor to startups and early-stage companies in the deeptech, biotech, life sciences, and digital sectors. He is passionate about community development in Cambridge, co-founding the Cambridge Tamil Sangam in 2015 and leading it until 2018. Since 2019, he has been actively involved with the Cambridge Hindu Forum, where he currently serves as a trustee.
Mr Rasik Kotecha
Managing Director, Securesafe Ltd
By profession, I'm an accountant and came to Cambridge over 40 years ago to work for Philips. After the Cambridge office closed, I started my own company and have been Managing Director of Securesafe Ltd since 1998. Through seeing others' experiences, I understand how vital support and productive, relaxed activities are for people with mental health issues. With financial and fundraising experience, I hope to help Make Do and Mend build community links and challenge perceptions.
Dr. Sujit Bhattacharya
Space Systems Engineer | STEM Education Leader | Founder, Cambridge Electronics & Robotics Club
Dr. Sujit Bhattacharya is a space systems engineer, researcher, and STEM education leader with over 35 years of experience. He has worked with ISRO, ESA, BAE Systems, and MDA Space on advanced space technologies. Alongside this, he has dedicated many years to STEM education, mentoring young people and creating community impact through the Cambridge Electronics and Robotics Club and other initiatives that inspire future scientists and engineers.
Mr Rahul Ithape
Community Leader & Enterprise Architect
Rahul is a community leader, entrepreneur, and technology professional with 25+ years as an Enterprise Architect in global IT. He has founded and exited ventures in e-commerce and restaurant digital transformation. Rahul co-founded the UK–India Startup Corridor, was Founding President of Heston Lions Club, and now leads Maharashtra Mandal Cambridgeshire, supporting community service, cultural heritage, unity, and opportunities for future generations.
Mrs Shweta Mathur
Shweta Mathur holds an MBA specialising in Marketing and is the Founder of the Indian Community of Waterbeach. Since 2018, she has been actively involved in bringing the local community together by organising cultural and community events that celebrate Indian heritage and promote community cohesion. Through her work, she has helped create platforms that connect families, volunteers, and local organisations.
As a mother raising the third generation of her family in Cambridge without access to a local Hindu temple, she is a strong advocate for the establishment of a temple that can serve the spiritual, cultural, and community needs of local Hindu families.
